Business Resilience & Growth in the VUCA environment

Motivated by the quest to stimulate economic prosperity through quality, efficiency, resilience, and sustainability, SAZ is hosting the Zimbabwe Standards Week from 20-22 November 2019 for the first time in the history of standardization in Zimbabwe. This exciting event has adopted an integrated approach to hosting the following key programs of events that feature annually on the SAZ calendar

Business Leaders’ Conference (6th BLC)

This is our flagship event that has been held successfully every year since 2014. It is a platform for sharing innovative ideas and solutions to support and encourage the growth of Zimbabwe Business Leaders in a highly dynamic environment. The conference covers relevant well-researched topics presented by eminent speakers.

National Annual Quality Award (10th NAQA)

The aim of these prestigious annual national awards is to recognize and appreciate organizations and individuals who are contributing to quality advancement in all sectors of Zimbabwe through systems that are aligned to local, regional and international practices. Over the decade, the event has successfully supported regional development and growth by promoting excellence.

World Standards Day 2019 (WSD)

This is celebrated worldwide every year on 14 October by members of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU). It is a platform to pay tribute to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide who develop voluntary technical agreements that are published as international standards. The SAZ has a tradition of celebrating WSD every year and this year the global event is being commemorated under the theme, Video Standards create a global stage during Zimbabwe Standards Week in Victoria Falls.

Objectives of the Zimbabwe Standards Week
The overall objective of an integrated approach to hosting these events branded, “Zimbabwe Standards Week” is to create a platform that allows stakeholders to see a holistic view of the full value of standards in relation to their businesses. The economic benefits of standards have been the well-documented world over thus, this ambitious program is designed to set Zimbabwe on a path to economic growth through the application of standards towards an upper-middle-income status by 2030. The organizers of Zimbabwe Standards Week recognize the critical role of standards in navigating and overcoming the VUCA environment. The events are therefore structured to afford delegates a unique opportunity to optimize in terms of leadership insights for decision making. Format and key topics for Business Leaders’ Conference 2019. It is envisaged that this landmark program will be officially opened
