SAZ ON COVID 19

MESSAGE TO OUR VALUED CLIENTS AND STAKEHOLDERS ON SAZ PRECAUTIONARY

MEASURES TAKEN FOR COVID-19

The Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) would like to assure all our stakeholders that we are closely following developments on the COVID-19 and that we have put mitigation measures in place based on the recommendations announced by His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa, the Ministry of Health and Child Care, and the World Health Organisation in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19. SAZ will endeavor to keep you up to date on new developments.

LABORATORY SERVICES

Laboratory services will remain functional. All lab samples should be clearly labelled for testing. Drop in places will be indicated. Due to adjusted working patterns some delays must be anticipated, nonetheless we will endeavor to minimize the delays. Please note that we also have the capacity to provide tests for sanitizers.

STANDARDS DEVELOPMENT & INFORMATION

All physical Technical Committee meetings have been suspended till further notice. This suspension does not stop ongoing Technical Committee activities. TC members should continue gathering organizational views and send their comments to the respective secretariat as planned through ISOlutions or emails.Urgent TC resolutions can be done electronically through respective chairs and Technical Secretaries through the same channels. SAZ will remain available for assistance via email.

TRAINING

We will continue providing training services to limited numbers. On-site training at client premises will be conducted on a case by case basis. Preventive measures will be put in place at all times. In order to assist organisations to manage healthy and safety issues, SAZ is encouraging organisations to train and implement the ZWS 992 HIV and Wellness Management System and ISO 45001, Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) standards.

CERTIFICATION

Certification audits will be conducted on a case by case basis. Certificates will be issued where certification processes have been completed in-line with the guidance received from the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) (www.iaf.nu).and the SAZ requirements.

SAZ VISITORS

Clients are expected to use hand sanitizers provided and regularly wash their hands with soap and water. This is mandatory. All clients are to report to reception and once cleared, meetings should be held in designated boardrooms taking into account social distancing. In view of the adjusted working patterns you could experience some delays, we therefore request your patience and tolerance. SAZ is committed and to delivering quality services and to supporting His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa, Ministry of Health and Child Care and the World Heath Organisation calls to slow down the spread of COVID-19. We will be open for business and are taking all necessary measures to assure quality service provision. We will continue with our current working hours with adjusted working patterns.
