Standard on Reusable Menstrual Cups.
The Standards Association of Zimbabwe has a project to draft a standard on reusable menstrual cups.
- To draft the national standards on reusable menstrual cups.
Scope of the project
- The standard seeks to specify the basic minimum requirements for the manufacture and performance of reusable menstrual cups.
Justification of the project:
- This standard will help in safeguarding women from using unapproved menstrual cups as these are made from unsafe material.
- The standard will ensure that menstrual cups are made from high-grade silicone which is inert and harmless to the environment. It is an acceptable international best practice to link national standards developed in an open process with the technical regulatory framework.
