The ZNSS 2022 – 2024 was developed to provide positive impacts to areas of national priorities through the use of market demanded and driven national standards (including adopted regional and international standards).The ZNSS rode on identified and prioritized national standards need. These needs were economic, societal or environmental. The strategy was forward looking and identified standards needed by stakeholder for future opportunities.

Standard are now geared towards non-traditional “new” areas , such as alignment with national development goals , corporate governance, and impacting on achievement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals .The ZNSS contains a list of standards projects identified by stakeholders, which the national standards body had to develop.

The ZNSS 2022 – 2024 was developed under the theme Market Driven Standards for Impact and Zimbabwe’s Regional and International Integration contained a total of 349 projects.
